Two years after the launch of its Roadmap for Positive Commerce , VusionGroup has taken a significant new step in its climate action plan by getting the validation of its near-term objectives by the Science Based Targets initiatives (SBTi).
At the heart of VusionGroup global strategy, decarbonization is the driver of our long-term vision consisting of sustainable business practices and sustainable innovation, as we actively seek solutions to minimize our environmental footprint.
Overall, the emission reduction targets of the Group’s validated climate trajectory are aligned with a 1.5°C trajectory set by the Paris Agreement. These targets are:
- A –42% absolute contraction of Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, compared to 2022 (the base year);
- A -51.6% Scope 3 carbon intensity reduction by 2030 compared to the 2022 base year, meaning reducing scope 3 GHG emissions per thousand EUR value added within the same timeframe [mainly emissions from purchased goods and services, upstream transportation and distribution, business travel, employee commuting and use of sold products].
