Solution
Mycronic’s customers work with single pick-and-place machines or manage several production lines at the same time. Integrated and managed by the Mycronic material management system, the SES-imagotag pro labels are used to keep track of all inventory involved in a specific production. The pro labels are attached to a material bin which contains electronic components and allow operators to receive real-time information about material movements via a factory-wide wireless communication link.
Outcome
The so-called smart bins with the SES-imagotag displays on them won the Global Technology Award. Operators are able to work more efficiently because they can instantly locate missing material by sending a signal directly from the electronic label.
